Research and development
Overall the research activity carried out in the institution aims to:
- provoke, initiate, carry out and/or accompany research projects underlying industrial innovation primarily in companies in the ceramics and glass sectors;
- as a result bear part of the risk involved in setting up emerging materials and/or processes;
- anticipate changes in companies’ future technological needs and sectors;
- establish tools and a methodology for this purpose enabling it to respond effectively to immediate and future industrial needs;
- maintain and consolidate the scientific and technical expertise acquired internally.
Research is split into 5 major areas:
- processing;
- densification;
- thermomechanical properties;
- functional properties;
- component production.
